MOSCOW, November 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office conducted a joint sting operation in October on a number of companies manufacturing audio and video CDs and DVDs, a source in the Economic Development and Trade Ministry said Friday.
Operatives seized about six million counterfeit CDs and DVDs with recordings of cartoons, movies, music, video games, software, and equipment for copying optical media.
According to preliminary estimates, the operation prevented copyright losses totaling millions of dollars.
