CHISINAU, November 12 (RIA Novosti) - The head of the Russian Orthodox Church arrived in the capital of Moldova on Saturday. Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, and Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova met Alexy II at the airport.
During his two-day visit, the Russian patriarch will meet with President Voronin and other state and government officials.
On Sunday, Alexy II and Metropolitan Vladimir will conduct a divine service that will be attended by the country's leadership.
This is the patriarch's second visit to Chisinau. He made his first visit to Moldova in 1990.
