ASTANA, November 13 (RIA Novosti) - Former Emergency Situations Minister Zamanbek Nurkadilov was found dead Saturday in the Kazakh city of Almaty, a local police statement said Sunday.
"The police found a Kobalt revolver that belonged to the ex-minister at the scene near the body," the statement said. "Apparently, Nurkadilov died from a gun shot at the head."
A special expert team has been formed to investigate the circumstances of the ex-minister's death.
Nurkadilov held the posts of the governor of Almaty and the emergency situations minister in the past. In the last few years, he lived in retirement.
