BELGRADE, November 15 (RIA Novosti, Nikolai Paskhin) - The Serbian government approved and submitted to parliament a draft resolution on the province of Kosovo that is likely to become Belgrade's position at the upcoming UN talks on the province's status.
Parliamentary speaker Predrag Markovic said the parliament would consider the government-submitted resolution over the weekend.
The 10-point resolution states that any attempts to divide Serbia by breaking off Kosovo would mean a violation of the rights of the sovereign state of Serbia and Montenegro.
The resolution states that Belgrade intends to find a compromise in defining the future of Kosovo that would satisfy both the European position on the issue and the principles of Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the interests of Serbs and Albanians.
