SAMSUN (Turkey), November 17 (RIA Novosti) - State-owned oil company Transneft has scheduled a meeting for November 18 to discuss construction plans for the East Siberia-Pacific pipeline, the head of the company said Thursday.
Semyon Vainshtok said the meeting would address the formation of two daughter companies within the pipeline project, one of which would deal with pipeline infrastructure and the other with port infrastructure.
The first stage of the project, estimated at $11.5 billion, includes construction of the Taishet-Skovorodino segment of the pipeline, the first leg of which is in the Irkutsk Region and ends in the Amur Region, and the building of an oil terminal in the Perevoznaya Bay in the Maritime Territory.
Vainshtok said Transneft also forwarded proposals on the construction of an oil refinery in the Perevoznaya Bay to interested departments.
"Our philosophy is that there should be an oil refinery near the port," he said.
