TBILISI, November 17 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskheliya) - The Georgian opposition called on the country's leadership Thursday to bring the country out of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
"Russia has done everything possible to force us out [of the organization], which is why we must make a decision and quit the CIS. We must recognize that the CIS and Georgia's North Atlantic choice are incompatible," David Berdzenishvili, a member of the Georgian Republic Party said.
He said that his party had always been against Georgia's membership in the CIS, and that the government's decision to join it had been a political mistake.
"I have always wondered why Georgia attends CIS summits," he added.
