MOSCOW, November 18 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Interior Ministry said Friday it had seized about 1,500 pirate CDs containing confidential information from government and commercial entities in an operation targeting Moscow's markets.

Officers identified four sites where CD versions of databases were traded, including information originating from the police and traffic police, and tax service, along with databases on Russian banks, and the federal wanted list, a ministry news release said.

The ministry said that the police estimated the damage done to the holders of the computer programs' copyright at $100,000.
