BUSAN (South Korea), November 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russian state-owned bank Vneshekonombank signed an agreement Friday with natural gas monopoly Gazprom and Thai energy company PTT on cooperation in the fuel and energy sector.
Under the document, Gazprom and PTT, with Vneskekonombank's participation, will be able pursue major oil and gas projects in Thailand, Russia and other countries.
Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko, who also sits on the Gazprom board, Vneshekonombank president Vladimir Dmitriyev and PTT president Prasert Bunsumpun signed the agreement in the presence of Vladimir Putin and Thailand's prime minister, Thaksin Chinnawat.
The Thai premier invited Putin to visit Thailand next year, and the Russian leader said he would gladly do so. Their meeting in Busan is expected to yield a number of bilateral documents.
