The meeting took place at the Russian leader's residence at Mariott hotel during a session of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum.

"Development of relations with Vietnam is a foreign policy priority for Russia. I am pleased to say that these relations are also progressing in the economic sphere. This year, our trade could surpass the $1 billion level," Putin said.
