MOSCOW, November 22 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian economic policy of refocusing on implementing national projects will not provide for doubling the GDP in 10 years, President Vladimir Putin's economic advisor said Tuesday.

Andrei Illarionov said the government and the presidential administration's recent reshuffles, which made former administration chief Dmitry Medvedev deputy prime minister in charge of nationwide projects, testified to that.

Illarionov said that such a policy would neither double the GDP in ten years nor help create favorable conditions for business.

"Doubling the GDP in ten years is impossible, since the GDP in Russia grew 55% in seven years," he said.

Illarionov said that, in the first nine months of 2005, 16% of Russia's GDP was attributed to changed prices for Russian exports and imports, but the GDP grew only 5.9%. He said this raises the question of the contribution of the economic policy underway, which he said only contributed negatively.
