KRASNOYARSK, November 25 (RIA Novosti, Lyudmila Zabortseva) - Investment in two oil-and-gas-rich zones in West Siberia as part of a regional development program is estimated at $17 billion, the deputy governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory said Friday.
"The sum includes $3 billion for infrastructure development," Anatoly Tikhonov said at an economic conference on the development of Russia's Siberia and the Far East, organized by United Russia, the ruling pro-Kremlin party.
"This will, above all, include the construction of a pipeline and a road to the south. Oil from [the autonomous district in West Siberia of] Evenkia will be pumped through the Eastern oil pipeline to major Russian oil refineries," Tikhonov said.
He also said development on the two oil-and-gas zones was scheduled to begin in 2007.
The government is expected to adopt a development program for the region in mid-December.
