MOSCOW, November 25 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Industry and Energy Ministry said the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) would soon approve Russian energy monopoly Unified Energy System's purchase of a 22.43% stake in Silovye Mashiny, a ministry official said Friday.
Andrei Dementyev, the head of the ministry's structure and investment policy department, also said the ministry positively assessed Siemens' intention to request that the FAS approve a purchase by the German company of 25% plus 1 share of the Silovye Mashiny concern.
"We believe these changes will positively affect the development of domestic energy engineering as a globally competitive sector," he said.
