MOSCOW, November 26 (RIA Novosti) - RIA Novosti's Web site won the annual national award for its contribution to the development of the Russian Internet domain (Runet-2005 award) in the State and Society category. The awards ceremony took place at the all-Russia Exhibition Center (VVTs) Friday.
Natalia Loseva, head of RIA Novosti's department of Internet projects, said this award would help the agency "implement new ideas."
The Runet award was established by the Federal Agency for Print and Mass Media to promote high technologies in Russia.
Awards were handed to leading companies in the spheres of information technologies and electronic media, including Web sites of the Rossiya TV channel, Kommersant daily and the Russian National Library.
