MOSCOW, November 26 (RIA Novosti) - The situation in the North Caucasian Chechen Republic before the parliamentary elections is stable, a State Duma (lower house) deputy from Chechnya said Saturday.
"The polling stations are ready [for November 27 elections], the situation is under control and people are in high spirits," Ruslan Yamadayev said.
He said militants would not be able to disrupt the elections.
