MOSCOW, November 28 (RIA Novosti) - Trade between Russia and the United States may reach $25 billion in 2006, the Russian foreign minister said Monday.
Sergei Lavrov said the growth rate of trade between the countries is high and stable. However, U.S.-Russian trade needs to be diversified, he said.
"The level of Russian export to the United States is increasing rapidly, growing by 46% [in 2005 so far], while American export [to Russia] has risen by 37%," Lavrov said.
The minister also said there remained a number of discrepancies between the countries on some international issues, but on the whole, there was a rapprochement on the solution of these issues.
