MOSCOW, November 28 (RIA Novosti) - Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov is set to discuss Russian natural gas supplies to and transit via Ukraine with heads of the European Commission in Brussels in December, a high-ranking government official said Monday.
The official said the issue concerned not only Russian-Ukrainian relations, but also the countries' relations with the European Union.
Fradkov cancelled his visit to Ukraine on November 23 due to a dispute over natural gas pricing.
For the past five years, Russia has been selling natural gas to Ukraine at $50 per 1,000 cu m, well below the world price. During this period, European gas prices have nearly doubled.
