Gazprom to open talks with CPNC on natural gas supplies to China

MOSCOW, November 30 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom will open negotiations with China National Petroleum Corporation on natural gas supplies to China in December, a senior official from the Russian energy giant said Wednesday. Alexander Medvedev, a deputy chairman of the concern's managing committee, said natural gas supplies to China would not depend on projects in eastern Siberia and Russia's Far East. "First, we need to agree on a contract and only then decide on which natural gas deposits will be used," Medvedev said.
