NIZHNY NOVGOROD, November 30 (RIA Novosti, Zhanna Voronova) - Russian ex-premier Mikhail Kasyanov said Wednesday he did not rule out giving up his candidacy at the 2008 presidential elections in favor of a single democratic candidate.
"If something happens, new forces appear and it is decided that another person will be a democratic candidate, and if this choice is justified, I will agree," Kasyanov told a news conference in Nizhny Novgorod.
"There is a lot of time left until [the presidential elections]. Democratic forces should obtain a majority in parliament in 2007. This can be achieved, and we will work [toward this]," he said.
