KIEV, November 30 (RIA Novosti) - The first group of Ukrainian peacekeepers has returned from Iraq, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said Wednesday.
The ministry said 69 out of 927 servicemen had arrived in the city of Lvov in western Ukraine.
Ukrainian peacekeepers, as well as 170 units of military hardware, will be withdrawn from Iraq by December 30, 2005.
The Ukrainian contingent in Iraq will be reduced by 700 servicemen as of the beginning of 2006.
