MOSCOW, December 1 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian-Chinese anti-terrorism exercises scheduled for 2007 will be held, not on a bilateral basis, but under the auspices of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the chief of Russia's General Staff said Thursday.
"We all have the objective of holding these exercises under the SCO," Yury Baluyevsky said. "These exercises will be aimed at fighting terrorism and eliminating its consequences."
The SCO is a regional security forum founded in Shanghai in July 2001 by the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and China.
