TBILISI, December 1 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskhelia) - The Georgian parliament will pass a law on non-deployment of foreign military bases in the country if Russia makes concessions on the settlement of the conflict between Georgia and its breakaway republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, a Georgian parliamentarian said Thursday.
"The law will be passed only if Russia takes serious steps toward settling the conflicts," said Givi Targamadze, the chairman of the Defence and Security Committee.
If passed, however, the law would not mean that Georgia would renege on its commitments to NATO and other international organizations, he said.
