RIGA, December 2 (RIA Novosti, Yury Guralnik) - Members of Latvian rightwing political party For the Fatherland and Freedom (TB/LNNK) introduced a bill in parliament Friday that would suspend the naturalization of non-citizens, the parliament's press service said.

The bill prohibits non-citizens from receiving Latvian citizenship until Russia signs an agreement on the elimination of the consequences of the occupation.

The bill also implies that the children of non-citizens born in Latvia will be granted citizenship only if their parents sign a document requiring them to attend a Latvian school.

The party also proposed that the government have the right to cancel the citizenship of "disloyal people caught committing bribery or using prohibited symbols (fascist or Soviet)," the press service said.

More than 100,000 of Latvia's 600,000 non-citizens have received Latvian citizenship in the 15 years of the Baltic state's independence.
