MOSCOW, December 2 (RIA Novosti) - Attorneys for former Yukos head Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who is currently serving an eight-year term in an East Siberian penal colony, said Friday they would file a new appeal with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Lawyer Karina Moskalenko, returning from the Chita Region colony, said the lawyers would appeal the violations of their rights by the federal penitentiary service.

"We have already appealed the illegal custody, and we discussed the appeal of the unjust trial with Khodorkovsky," she said.

Moskalenko said she had discussed only one-fourth of the appeal with her defendant.

She added that the local prison officials were not guilty of the violations. "They are dependent people," she said.
