MOSCOW, December 2 (RIA Novosti) - Lawyers for former Yukos chief executive Mikhail Khodorkovsky said Friday his transfer to a penal colony in East Siberia's Chita Region was illegal and they would appeal it.
"I want to refute all rumors that Khodorkovsky wants to live there," attorney Yury Shmidt said. "He [Khodorkovsky] knows that his business partner Lebedev filed the same appeal."
Shmidt also said there were no new accusations against Khodorkovsky as some media had reported. The reports said the Prosecutor General's Office had launched a new criminal case against Khodorkovsky and Lebedev accusing them of embezzlement of 10% of shares of the AVISMA company in 1994-1996.
