MOSCOW, December 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russian electricity monopoly Unified Energy System is interested in involving Austrian companies in the development of Russia's power sector, the UES head said Friday.
Anatoly Chubais discussed cooperation with Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel and the head of Austria's leading electricity company Verbund AG, Hans Haider.
He said Verbund could join the construction of new electricity facilities in Russia that are based on advanced technology.
The Austrian side said Russia was a key partner in the power sector. According to Haider, the introduction of investment guarantees in Russia could attract European companies to the Russian power industry.
