KIEV, December 3 (RIA Novosti) - A highly pathogenic strain of the bird flu virus was discovered in three regions of the Crimea, a peninsula in the Black Sea in Ukraine, the country's Emergency Situations Ministry said Saturday.
The ministry said domestic fowl had been found to be infected with the virus in the Sovetsky, Dzhankoi and Nizhnegorsky regions. Trade in poultry meat was prohibited.
