MOSCOW, December 3 (RIA Novosti) - Two men were detained for illegal election campaigning ahead of the Moscow Duma elections due on Sunday, city police said Saturday.
According to the police, the two men had been pasting election leaflets on building facades, in violation of administrative regulations.
They will be charged under Article 5.12 of the Administrative Infractions Code and fined, a police spokesman said.
It was established that one of the detainees had received illicit campaigning material from a political party. "He was promised three rubles for each leaflet he distributed," the spokesman said.
