ASTANA, December 4 (RIA Novosti) - More than 90% of the electors in the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan cast their votes in favor of the incumbent President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the exit poll results indicated Sunday.
The exit poll conducted by the Moscow-based Center for Political Technologies showed that 90.5% of polled electors had cast their ballots in favor of incumbent President Nursultan Nazarbayev by 15:00 p.m. local time (09:00 a.m. GMT). The opposition leader Zharmakhan Tyukbai won only 6.4% of the votes, the exit polls suggested.
The presidential elections in Kazakhstan began at 07:00 a.m. local time (01:00 a.m. GMT) this Sunday.
