MOSCOW, December 5 (RIA Novosti, Yekaterina Repina) - Deputy Director of the REN TV channel and chief editor of its information service Yelena Fyodorova has tendered her resignation, the latest in an exodus of the channel's talent.
Fyodorova said working on the channel was no longer possible.
"A lot of content-related directives have passed by me," she said. "As a journalist, I cannot put up with that, I cannot live with that."
Olga Romanova, a channel anchor who started legal proceedings against the REN-TV management after security guards prevented her from entering the station's studios for her nightly broadcasts on November 23, editor Olga Shorina and program producer Tatyana Kolokova are also planning to leave the channel because they said it was impossible to perform their professional duties.
"The orders you issued led to me being effectively stripped of the possibility of running the information service and controlling the content and quality of TV products," Fyodorova said in her resignation, addressed to General Director Alexander Ordzhonikidze.
Fyodorova said her resignation had been accepted already, whereas those filed by Shorina, Romanova and Klokova had not so far.
