DAMASCUS, December 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and Syria signed two major contracts worth $370 million in the gas industry Monday.
Stroitransgaz, Russian energy giant Gazprom's main contractor, won a tender for laying a 324km-long section of the pipeline, which will run from the Syrian-Jordanian border to ar-Rayan, 160km north of Damascus.
Under the other contract, the Russian company is expected to build a gas processing plant near Palmyra.
