BRUSSELS, December 8 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is against the revision of cooperation standards with the Euroatlantic Partnership Council (EPC), the Russian foreign minister said Thursday.
"We believe it would be counterproductive to revise the practice of cooperation with the EPC," Sergei Lavrov said at a council session in Brussels.
The minister said the partnership was formed to unite the efforts of its member countries to counter modern challenges threatening stability on the Euroatlantic territory such as international terrorism, drug trafficking, the expansion of weapons of mass destruction and natural disasters.
"We can only solve these issues together," Lavrov said. "This is the essence of the partnership and its main value."
