MOSCOW, December 9 (RIA Novosti) - German company Siemens has not applied to Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for approval of the deal to buy 25% plus one share of Silovye Mashiny, Russia's leading heavy machinery manufacturer, FAS head Igor Artemyev said Friday.
Artemyev said the service was waiting for the company's application.
A Siemens-Moscow official said earlier that Siemens had requested permission from the Russian government to buy a stake in Silovye Mashiny.
"We sent a request to the Russian government to find out what percent they would let us purchase and whether they are against it in general," he said in early December. "After this we plan to apply to the Federal Antimonopoly Service and proceed further."
