MOSCOW, December 9 (RIA Novosti) - Alexander Borodyuk signed a contract Friday with the Russian Football Union to coach the national soccer team until 2008.
RFU President Vitaly Mutko asked Borodyuk, 43, who had been an assistant coach to the team since 2003, to become coach earlier this week. Borodyuk will also coach the Russian under-21 team, which is currently playing to qualify for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
