"We should not be afraid of China, but should develop relations with the country," said Boris Titov, board chairman of the Russian national public organization Business Russia.
More than 100 investment projects are being discussed as part of the Russian-Chinese Business Council, according to Titov, who is also the chairman of the Russian part of the council.
Titov said the council backed the project to hold the Year of Russia in China in 2006 and the Year of China in Russia in 2007. He mentioned the prospects of holding an investment week in China.
"Today we are talking about holding an investment week, as the number of investment projects is increasing," he said.
Titov said Russian and Chinese businessmen were equally interested in cooperation, adding that bilateral trade turnover aggregated $28 billion in 2005.
