ST. PETERSBURG, December 9 (RIA Novosti, Maxim Leonov) - A court in St. Petersburg sentenced a neo-Nazi activist to six years in prison Friday of founding an extremist group, sedition and instigating ethnic and racial strife.

The court dropped similar charges against co-defendant Alexei Vostroknutov, citing lack of evidence. Prosecutor Alexei Bundin said he would appeal the acquittal.

Three other suspects in the same case received suspended jail sentences of three years each. Four of the defendants are minors, meaning the hearings had to be held behind closed doors.

Bobrov's Schultz 88 group was set up in 2001, on Adolf Hitler's birthday, April 20. Investigators say the two eights in the organization's name stand for the eighth letter of the Latin alphabet, "H," and represent a coded form of the Nazi greeting Heil Hitler.
