Ambassador-at-large Valery Kenyaikin said Saturday he had had bilateral meetings in Tskhinvali with the president of the unrecognized republic of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, and the republic's minister-at-large, Boris Chochiyev.
Kenyaikin said the South Ossetian leadership had "showed understanding in dealing with unresolved issues, including the work of the Mixed Control Commission."
The Russian official added that earlier he had held consultations with Georgian State Minister for Separatist Conflicts Georgy Khaindrava and was going to meet with Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Chechelashvili.
"I hope that following the bilateral meetings in Tbilisi and Tskhinvali, we will now be able to discuss the timeframe and venue for a meeting of MCC co-chairmen," Kenyaikin said.
