MOSCOW, December 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's human rights commissioner Saturday called the human rights situation in Russia moot and said he would soon present a report on the issue.
Speaking at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on December 10, which is International Human Rights Day, Vladimir Lukin said that since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted in 1948, the human rights situation in Russia "has changed greatly - and has changed for the better."
At the same time Lukin said the current situation was somewhat moot.
"An annual report will soon be prepared and I hope to present it to you shortly. It lists both achievements and failures," Lukin said.
