MOSCOW

* Chairman of the Russian Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin will host an online conference on Russia's constitutional development (11:00 a.m.).

* Culture and Mass Communications Minister Alexander Sokolov will present state awards to members of the Russian culture and art community (4:00 p.m.).

* The board of Russian railroad monopoly Russian Railways (RZD) will hold a session after which RZD President Vladimir Yakunin will give a news briefing (3:00 p.m.).

* Speaker of the State Duma (parliament's lower chamber) Boris Gryzlov will meet with Speaker of the Iranian parliament Gholam Ali Haddad Adel (3:00 p.m.). The Iranian speaker will then meet with Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia (4:00 p.m.).

* Interfax will host the following news conferences:

- with Presidential Envoy to the Far East Federal District Kamil Iskhakov on the results of the Russian delegation's participation in the summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (12:00 p.m.);

- on the results of the ninth all-Russia contest, Best Russian Enterprises-2005, with President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alexander Shokhin and other officials (2:00 p.m.).

* The Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court will consider the appeal of former Menatep head Platon Lebedev's lawyers against the decision of the Federal Penitentiary Service to send their defendant to the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.

* The Strategic Research Group and the Higher Business School of Lomonosov Moscow State University will hold a seminar on development strategy (6:30 p.m.).

* A news conference on the topic "Are Russians ready to buy Russian products?" will be held (12:00 p.m.).

* RIA Novosti will host a televised conference between Moscow and Tbilisi on the development of sports in Russia and Georgia (11:00 a.m.).

GROZNY

* The first sessions of the upper and lower chambers of the Chechen parliament, the Council of the Republic, and the People's Assembly will be held.

MINSK

* A two-day session of the Russian-Belarusian council for long-term cooperation in the Kaliningrad Region (Russia's exclave on the Baltic Sea) with Belarusian ministries and departments will open. Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Georgy Boos will meet with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Prime Minister Sergei Sidorksy.

VIENNA

* Russian Transportation Minister Igor Levitin will pay a working visit to Austria. He will meet with Austrian Vice Chancellor and Minister for Transit, Innovation, and Technology Hubert Gorbach and visit a Siemens plant.

PARIS

* The bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will meet to discuss the PACE January session. Several PACE deputies intend to include in the agenda some issues aimed against Russia prior to the latter's upcoming presidency in the Council of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

KUALA LUMPUR

* A summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations will be held.

EL-KUWAIT

* The 138th OPEC conference will be held to discuss the organization's policy in 2006.
