KIEV, December 12 (RIA Novosti) - Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) arrived in Ukraine Monday to study the recent bird flu outbreak in the Crimea, an autonomy on the Black Sea, the country's health ministry said.
The experts plan to review the measures taken by Ukrainian specialists to counter the spread of the virus, as well as to offer assistance in preventing it from spreading to other territories.
The Ukrainian leadership imposed a state of emergency in the Crimea. Poultry imports from the area have been banned and mass vaccinations of the population are under way.
