Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov said the geopolitical role of the organization, established 30 years ago, was growing and that the organization should match its current tasks.
The results of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers' meeting in Ljubljana in early December prove that "the OSCE's geopolitical and geoeconomic role is being revised," Azimov said, adding that some of Azerbaijan's proposals on OSCE reform had been approved.
The official also said that international organizations, such as NATO, should tackle crises and humanitarian problems more effectively.
He said Azerbaijan was developing an individual partnership with NATO in the security, military, environmental and scientific spheres.
"Azerbaijan regards this cooperation as very serious," Azimov said.
