KIEV, December 15 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine will start exporting electric energy to Belarus starting in the beginning of 2006, the Ukrainian fuel and energy minister said Thursday.
"Today or tomorrow we will finish drawing up the contract on Belarus and will start electricity export there in the beginning of 2006," Ivan Plachkov said.
The minister did not specify the volume of and prices on the exported electric energy to Belarus.
It was reported earlier that Belarus discussed the possibility of buying about 2-2.5 billion kWh of electric energy from Ukraine in 2006 at about $1.85-$2.03 per 100 kWh, depending on the schedule of deliveries.
