MOSCOW, December 15 (RIA Novosti) - The chemicals spilled into the Songhua River after an explosion at a Chinese plant may reach the Amur River December 16, the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare said Thursday.
The river will see a maximum concentration of benzene December 17-19.
The agency said benzene exceeded the maximum concentration level in a 160-kilometer stretch of the polluted water that was moving at a speed of 1.2 km per hour.
