BAKU, December 16 (RIA Novosti) - The OSCE Minsk Group for the Nagorny Karabakh conflict settlement adopted a resolution Friday highlighting progress in the process to solve.
The group, which included Steven Mann of the United States, Bernard Fassier from France, and Russia's Yury Merzlyakov, said the current situation was ripe for further progress.
Merzlyakov said an agreement on the long-standing dispute over the breakaway republic in Azerbaijan that has a largely ethnic Armenian population could be reached in 2006.
Mann expressed hope that the main points of contention between the conflicting sides would be settled next year.
