XIANGANG (Hong Kong), December 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and Switzerland are planning to sign a final protocol on the completion of their talks on Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) at a world economic forum at Davos in late January 2006, a senior Russian official said Sunday.
Maksim Medvedkov, Russia's chief negotiator at the WTO talks, said that Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref and his Swiss counterpart Joseph Deiss had agreed to hold another meeting January 15, 2006 before signing a final protocol at a Davos summit in Switzerland in late January.
A source in the Swiss delegation at the WTO talks said earlier that the Swiss side was satisfied with progress reached at the bilateral talks with Russia.
Russia has to complete talks with Switzerland, the United States, Australia and Colombia to join the WTO.
