MOSCOW, December 19 (RIA Novosti) - Twelve Russian sailors released from a prison in Nigeria on December 14 will return home on Wednesday, a day later than expected due to a delayed connecting flight in London, one of the sailors said.
The sailors, who were crewmembers of Greek-owned ship MT African Pride, each received six-month suspended sentences for pleading guilty to illegally possessing oil.
They had spent nearly two years in custody for alleged smuggling oil and economic sabotage after their ship was detained with a large volume of suspected stolen crude 31 miles off the Nigerian coast.
