MOSCOW, December 21 (RIA Novosti) - The State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, said Wednesday that it would ask the Foreign Ministry to provide information on U.S. Congress's alleged interference in Russian lawmaking.
The U.S. Congress reportedly passed a resolution earlier this month calling on the Russian authorities to revoke or amend their controversial bill on non-governmental organizations, which it perceives as infringing on the rights of foreign-funded NGOs by restricting their activities in Russia.
Members of several Russian parliamentary factions, including the ultranationalist Rodina, called the resolution an attempt to influence their legislative work.
