* Russia is expected to donate 50 armored personnel carriers (APCs) and two Mi-17 transport helicopters to the Palestinian Authority, a source close to the negotiations said

* Russia's Navy Commander Admiral Vladimir Masorin called statements made by Ukrainian politicians about unscheduled inventory inspection of the Black Sea Fleet bases in Sevastopol and the Crimea unacceptable

* A Russian Navy official said members of a Ukrainian public organization attempted to illegally enter the guarded territory of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol

* The Black Sea Fleet leadership said it would stop subleasing the fleet facilities in Ukraine in 2006

* The Russian Military Prosecutor's Office said it had dropped bribery charges against former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, citing the expiration of the statute of limitations
