NARO-FOMINSK (Moscow region), December 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Defense Minster and Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said Tuesday that revising the agreement on Russia's Black Sea Fleet deployed in the Ukrainian autonomy of the Crimea was unacceptable.

"Amending the treaty is tantamount to death," Ivanov said.

The lease money Russia has been paying to Ukraine is stipulated in an agreement that is part of a larger treaty, which also stipulates the inviolability of the two countries' common borders, the minister said. Amending the document could have grave ramifications.
