BEIJING, December 27 (RIA Novosti, Alexei Yefimov) - The date for the fifth round of six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program has yet to be fixed, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told a news briefing Tuesday.
Deputy Foreign Minister We Dawei, who is leading the Chinese delegation to the talks, which also involve the United States, Russia, Japan and South Korea, said Monday that negotiations could resume in January.
Qin Gang said more discussions were needed to fix the date.
The first phase of the fifth round of talks took place in Beijing November 9-11. The parties adopted a joint statement, saying they planned to resume talks as soon as possible.
