* Gazprom, along with Russian Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko, refuted media reports that Russia had agreed to Ukraine's proposal to introduce a gradual, step-by-step move to market prices for Russian natural gas
* Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov said Ukraine had the right to 15% of Russian natural gas pumped through its territory, what Russian energy giant Gazprom said would be theft
* A Ukrainian deputy said the country's government was preparing an appeal to the Stockholm Court of Arbitration on the gas dispute with Russia
* Azerbaijani state gas company Azerigaz said it was planning to purchase 1 billion cu m of gas from Iran to run the country's electric power stations
* Gazprom said it had signed an agreement with Belarusian state gas company Beltransgaz to supply 21 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Belarus in 2006 at $46.68 per 1,000 cu m, or the same price as in 2005
